Thank you all for your interest in, and questions about, this exciting event! To briefly summarize, members of our group, likely along with other groups, will be taking part in an admissions ceremony at the United States Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. to take place on Friday, February 21, 2025. Oral argument will follow the ceremony and you are invited to remain and enjoy viewing it.

All eligible members of the Connecticut Italian American Bar Association are invited to apply and, if accepted, attend the event along with ONE guest.

To qualify for admission to the Court you: (1) must have been admitted to practice in the highest court of your state for a period of at least three years immediately before the date of application; (2) must not have been the subject of any adverse disciplinary action pronounced or in effect during that three-year period and must appear to the Court to be of good moral and professional character;  and (3) need to also have a statement of support for admission by two members of the United States Supreme Court Bar.  The cost of admission is $200.00.

If you do not know any members of the United States Supreme Court Bar, CIABA will have a process for two Board such members to meet with you, discuss your history, and sign off on the application for admission.

The itinerary is tentative at this time, as we wait to determine the size of this group. However, we intend to dine together at an Italian restaurant on February 20, 2025 in Washington DC (the evening before the ceremony) and possibly do some touring events after the ceremony with anyone that does not need to head back right away. Due to the tentative nature of this planning, at this time, we are only asking you to pay the $200.00 admissions fee, which we will submit along with your application.

The deadline to apply is approaching, so please RSVP as soon as possible.  Once you have paid the $200.00 admissions fee, please submit your application to us no later than November 15.  Please mail it to the event organizer, David DeRosa, at 42 Terrace Avenue, P.O. Box 992, Naugatuck, CT 06770. That will give us two weeks to establish that all is in order and submit it to the United States Supreme Court.  The instructions and application form can be located at this link.

You will need to obtain a letter of good standing which will take 4 to 6 weeks to process.  There is an additional cost for that of $10.00 and you will find the instructions for that here. Please find a link to the State of Connecticut requirements and costs for a certificate of good standing at this link.

If you need assistance in the process, please contact David by emailing dderosa@attorneyderosa.com.
